V3 shared grid · automatic grayscale recovery for still images
Scanning tips
Open the original image, not a screenshot or a messaging-app thumbnail. Still images get grayscale recovery automatically when the cells are small. The reader reports its progress; a dense scan can take tens of seconds.
Use HTTPS for the phone camera. Move close enough to resolve the data, not just the finders. “Capture & recover” freezes a full-resolution video frame for the more thorough still-image reader.
For a difficult image, select the centers of four finders around one packet. Save a session to continue with more images later. Only CRC-verified V3 packets are accepted; the complete file must pass SHA-256 verification.
